A large, fine quality Early 20th Century Vintage English Repoussé Brass Charger of heavy gauge metal, the form inspired by the “Rose-water” or “Alms” dishes produced in large quantities from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century by the “hammermen” of certain German towns. The central decoration of a musician with his lute, accompanied perhaps by his wife, but certainly by a stoneware flagon of ale. The reverse with two clips for wall hanging.
