Antique English Victorian Blue and White Transfer “Loch Creran with Barcaldine Castle” Pattern Pottery Jug ~ John Meir and Son

A lovely Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Blue and White Transfer “Dutch” shaped Pottery Jug / Pitcher decorated with a print of “Loch Creran with Barcaldine Castle“, from the Northern Scenery series of views, taken from “Scotland ~ Illustrated in a Series of Views”, by William Beattie and Thomas Allom, published in 1838, and commonly attributed to John Meir & Son of Tunstall, Staffordshire { 1837 – 1897 }. The underside fully marked in underglaze blue with Maker’s Mark and Series Title within a ribbon set in an elaborate cartouche, below which appears the View Title in script. Small, old, star crack to base.
