A rare and fine Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Spode “New Fayence” Serving Dish or Platter of large size, decorated with a most attractive polychrome floral spray and border, neither of which appear to feature in the list of prints catalogued by Drakard and Holdway in their “Spode Printed Ware”, nor in their later publication, “Spode Transfer Printed Ware 1784 – 1833”. In excellent condition apart from a little light staining, the reverse fully marked with the printed Maker’s mark in puce, “Spode’s NEW FAYENCE” within a floral cartouche, which mark was used from c.1805 – 1833.
