A good, Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Plate in the “Romantic Ruins” pattern, by James and Ralph Clews of Cobridge, Staffordshire { 1818 – 1834 }. Printed in a medium blue palette, an identical plate is illustrated in Plate 17 of “Staffordshire Blue”, by W.L. Little. The reverse with stilt marks and impressed Maker’s mark “G R above a crown, CLEWS, WARRANTED, STAFFORDSHIRE”, { Little, Mark No. 9 }.
