An attractive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Mason's Ironstone Blue and White Transfer Indented Plate printed in a medium blue palette in the "Vase and Table" pattern, comprising a Chinese influenced floral design, in which the central features are a vase and a table, the whole contained within a border of flowers and scrolls. The reverse with underglaze blue printed Maker's Mark consisting of a crown above the words PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA within a ribbon cartouche. Width : 20.30 cm. / 8.00 inches : Year : Circa 1820. Ref. A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Dished Octagonal Pottery Plate by Brameld & Co. of Swinton Old Pottery, Rotherham { 1806 - 26 }, printed in a medium blue palette in the "Woodman" pattern. The scene depicting a Woodman returning to his cottage and being greeted by his child whilst the mother is seated outside with her spinning wheel. | Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer "Angus Seats" Pottery Tureen and Cover |
A rare and most impressive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Tureen and Cover. Unmarked, but believed to have been produced by John and William Ridgway of Shelton, Hanley, Staffordshire, as part of their "Angus Seats" series. Both the interior and the exterior depicting various views taken from "Seats of the Nobility and Gentry in Great Britain and Wales in a Collection of Select Views engraved by W. Angus from Pictures and Drawings by the Most Eminent Artists with Descriptions of Each View", published in 1797. This lovely old piece has been professionally restored to museum standard and is guaranteed to add lustre to the finest display of antique blue and white china. A scarce Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Hot Water Dish, printed in a medium blue with "The Cowman" pattern. Unmarked, the Maker as yet unidentified. Coysh, in Volume II of "The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery 1780 - 1880" , { Plate VIII }, illustrates a sauce tureen, cover and stand decorated with a number of slightly different variants of this previously recorded pattern.
